Al suo arrivo in uno strano paese, un uomo scopre che tutti conoscono il suo nome, ma tutti pensano che sia qualcun altro… A causa di un naufragio, due coppie di gemelli vengono separate alla nascita. Crescono in due città rivali e vengono chiamate con gli stessi nomi. Mentre viaggiano verso l’antica città greca di Efeso alla ricerca dei fratelli dispersi, Antifolo di Siracusa e il suo servo Dromio si troveranno ad affrontare una serie di equivoci ed incomprensioni che li faranno finire in circostanze complicate…
